Volunteer

My Village Ministries relies on several different types of volunteers serving through partner churches. Below, you can learn more about the different roles needed in a My Village church. If you’d like to learn more about any of these roles and how to get involved, please contact us.

The team of 2–4 people who coordinates the partnership between My Village Ministries and your church. The Ministry Lead team is the key recruiter, liaison, and advocate for the hosts, coaches, and mentors from your church.

Providing a home for the children in a hosting. Host families play a critical role in building and fostering relationships with the referring parents. Average length of hosting is 1–2 weeks.

Providing coaching, encouragement, and mentoring for referring parents. You work closely with the host family to make sure the children being hosted are safe and well.

Walking alongside a school-aged child that is being hosted. Meeting with your mentee regularly as a consistent and encouraging influence in their life — not just during a hosting, but for a year after reunification.

The wrap-around support for host families. Babysitting, supplies, meals, transportation, gift cards, cards of encouragement — removing obstacles so the host family can focus on caring for the children and parents in crisis.
